We can’t believe it is Expo East time again! It feels like just last week that we were hosting our first Whitebox Happy Hour and meeting all sorts of awesome future clients at the Baltimore Convention Center.
With the Expo just days away, we’re getting pumped up about a bunch of things, beyond just sleeping in our own beds while attending a trade show. This week, we’re putting together a list of things we’re excited about, including some tips from our team (all local Baltimoreans!) about where to eat close to the convention center.
Baltimore’s downtown restaurants
One of the great things about having a tradeshow in your hometown is getting to be the local expert! We’re excited to recommend a few spots within a stone’s throw of the convention center.
Pratt Street Ale House was the location of our event last year, and we love it. It’s a great place to grab a drink or dinner, since they’ve got an extensive menu that ranges from comfort pub fare to sandwiches to healthier salads, PLUS - they brew their own beer.
If you’re looking for something beyond American pub fare, Maiwand Grill offers delicious Afghan food and is a quick 10 minute walk from the convention center. We do recommend going before dark, since it is a little off the main drag.
Finally, if you need a little caffeine jolt, Filicori Zecchini is a gourmet coffee chain that offers some darn delicious espresso drinks.
Michele’s Granola Yoga Event - Saturday, 7:30 - 9:30 am
This is the exercise opportunity that we’re REALLY psyched about, since it’s sponsored by one of our clients. We love Michele’s Granola (and we aren’t too biased - we loved it even before they became one of our clients!) and there’s a lot more than just granola on the day.
Here’s a description of the delicious offerings: “Beginning at 7:30am, we'll serve vegan parfait bases from Zia's, and B'more Organic will be onsite with skyr smoothies. We'll have plenty of fresh granola and toppings from sponsoring natural & organic brands. Fresh brewed coffee served all morning by Rise Up Coffee Roasters.”
If you do plan on attending, make sure you RSVP (it’s free, but space is limited) and BYOM (bring your own mat). Yoga begins at 8 am. You may spot some of our team members there, so make sure to say Hi!
See you there!
Just like last year, we’re hosting a Happy Hour in honor of you: our current and prospective clients! This year, it’s going to be on Friday night from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at an undisclosed but close-by location. While we love a party, we can’t have the whole convention showing up ... if you happen to run into us and nab an invite, we promise you’ll get a cold drink and a sampling of crab appetizers while you’re there.
If you’re curious about Whitebox and what we do, our sales gurus Katie and Harriet still have a few slots left for meetings. Click here to reserve one if you’re interested, and they will come by your booth at that time to meet with you and your team.
